PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT
V-Band Clamps and Flanges
V-Band clamps and flanges are an excellent light-weight alternative to standard exhaust bolt-up flanges. 321SS flanges offer tremendous gasketless performance for exhaust applications. Also available are aluminum V-band flanges for use in connecting aluminum tubing in intercooler piping systems and other applications. These flanges are a cost effective alternative to the Wiggins Clamp where joint flexibility is not required.

Dear Per,
Where does the time go? It is October and there is already a chill in the air. The Chase is on in Sprint Cup Racing and NHRA. The NMCA World Finals were last weekend and the ALMS finals in Monterey are over. After one of the most impacting financial crisis in history and rumors of the demise of motorsports, the season is ending much like many past seasons. One of the reasons I like this business is the resilience and passion of those involved in it. Regardless of the economic conditions, most of you carried on. Sure, maybe you decided to camp at the track instead of getting that hotel room but you still went racing.
I hope that you have found this newsletter useful. As you plan your winter upgrades, remember that you can access the past issues on our website.

MONTEREY, Calif., Oct. 10, 2009 - Corvette Racing teammates Jan Magnussen and Johnny O'Connell finished as runners-up in the season-ending Monterey Sports Car Championships at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The race ended as Magnussen spun across the track and hit the wall on the pit straight in the No. 3 Compuware Corvette C6.R. The Danish driver was examined and released from the trackside medical center after his encounter with the concrete barrier as the Corvette's safety systems and energy-absorbing structure performed as designed in the impact. So we are now finally ready to weld. Well, no, not quite. In the past few issues of the newsletter we have discussed various welding techniques, tube fitment and backpurging. As you can see, the key to a proper header build is attention to the details. In this installment, we will discuss the proper treatment of the flange/exhaust port interface as this is a critical point and can make big differences in header performance.
