Mariani Farms Roadsters Shatter Speed Records

Mariani Farms Bonneville Roadster
Bonneville Roadster

Congratulations to Burns Stainless customers Dave Sileira and Dennis of Mariani Fams for setting new speed records at Bonneville Speed Week this past month. Dennis set the record twice this year in his F/STR class 1927 Vintage Ford Roadster. On Monday, August 16, he ran a 179.052 mph raising the record from 170.56 mph. Then on Thursday the 19th, he beat his own record with 181.108 mph run. Not a bad week! Running the second Mariani Farms car, David Sileira also set a record for E/STR Vintage Roadster with a 204.870 mph run beating the previous record of 198.011 mph. Not only that, Dave also entered the fabled 200 mph Club. All-in-all, it was a great week for the Mariani Farms team.
Both these record setting cars were equipped with Burns Stainless designed headers and collectors. READ MORE
Fire Sale For B-Grade Bends
Would you like to save some money? Burns Stainless is having a "Fire Sale" on various B-Grade. B-grade bends have some slight rippling in the bend area (check out link for more information on B-Grade bends). In most cases, the rippling will not affect flow. Normally discounted 15% off standard bends, in order to clear out our inventory, these B-Grade bends are available at a 50% discount. Hurry, as the discount is only good for as long as supplies last.

So let's take a closer look at this topic. Exhaust tubes experience stress from a variety of sources including thermal stress, vibration, exhaust pressure, hitting the ground (usually when loading car on trailer), chassis bind etc... The combination of these stresses result in an applied stress to the tube material. As long as the applied stress is lower than the yield strength of the material, all is good in exhaust-land.  READ MORE
